Yugoslavia (Slovenia), Umag and Bled 1989

Another trip to Yugoslavia but to Slovenia this time, we flew from Newcastle into Ljubljana, then went by coach to Umag on the coast, where we stayed the first week in a village apartment. The next week we went by coach from Umag to Bled in the Mountains, staying in a village apartment again (as big as our house), very nice.

As well as Me, Dot, Ralph and Nicole we had Ralph's friend Steve with us for the holiday.

During the first week we were on the coast in a house not far from the center, were we had access to the hotel and its pool. We also had a but trip out to Portoroz also on the coast via the service bus.

 

Second week, when we arrived in Bled it was pouring down and our apartment wasn't ready. So we sat in a small supermarket and drank beers, yes there was a bar in there. When we did get to our rooms is was fantastic, the upper floors of a very large chalet on the edge of town.

We had a trip out to Jesenice to find a bank and drew over one million dinar out for the rest of the week.

There was a lovely cake shop that we used to pop into each day, it also sold beers.
